Program summary

  • Program name: The Dock at Eastern Lake resident communications
  • Sender: The Dock at Eastern Lake
  • Audience: Approved and invited residents of The Dock at Eastern Lake
  • Opt-in method: web/app form inside the private application, with a separate, unchecked consent checkbox

How SMS Opt-In Works

  1. Resident account and mobile number

Approved residents sign in to The Dock using the mobile number associated with their account. Having a mobile number on the account or using it for authentication — for example, to receive a one-time sign-in verification code — does not provide consent to receive recurring SMS messages.

No email sign-in option is shown. Entering a phone number here only requests a one-time authentication code and is not consent to receive recurring SMS messages.
  2. Separate SMS consent

After signing in, the resident navigates to Me → Notifications & Privacy → Text Messages. The resident sees a separate SMS consent control that is unchecked by default and must actively select it to opt in. SMS consent is optional and is not required to create or use the account.

This in-app consent control is the only initial SMS opt-in method for this campaign. Users do not initially opt in by keyword, verbal consent, paper form, QR code, or transferred/shared consent.

The screen shows the full consent language, message frequency disclosure, message and data rates disclosure, STOP and HELP instructions, the statement that SMS consent is optional, and links to the Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.

Helper text shown beneath the checkbox: “Separate and optional — leave it unchecked and everything else in The Dock still works.
